We enter new territory

Today we did our first 100 mile training ride. And even Martin kept
up, even on the hills.

Thornhill - Ystrad Mynach - Maesycummer - Newbridge - Crumlin -
Pontypool - Usk (big hill) - Raglan (oops) - Monmouth - Tintern -
Chepstow - over Severn Bridge and back (why ? Because it was there) -
Caldicot - Magor - Coast rd (Nash etc) - Newport - Coast Rd
(Marshfield etc) - St Mellons - Lisvane - The Griffin.

96.9 miles
Elapsed time: 9hrs
Time moving: 7:14
Height gain: 9071 ft.
Avg speed: 13.4 mph

Gorgeous day. And I can confirm it is not downhill from Tintern to
Chepstow - quite the opposit

  1. The Griffin? Couldn't make it to the Ty Mawr?! Only joking - well done!

  2. I had suggested the Travellers Rest to the others, but that got vetoed. These rugby guys are all a bit soft as I am discovering.
